And where do your feelings visit any time an individual are sitting by yourself? Do the cats come and thieve them away as they purr and sidle up to you for a speedy pet? Does the gardener whirl them out with his lawn mower, to bring back them to you personally, shredded and incoherent as a handful of grass cuttings in your side yard wishing for removal?
Where do those feelings go as you are seated looking at the screen of your computer, the curser blinking impatiently up at you like a stop light in a little mid-western town? Can you reclaim them and place them to good use- maybe to gather up the laundry washing that is parked , like a mail order bride in a cut-rate magazine page. I regularly wish that I could take a visit to those hidden countries of indolence and postponement as a way to find what I have lost.
I find that a lot of my thoughts amble off by themselves with minimal advice from me. I can be sitting at my desk with a perfectly good train of thought moving along when all of a sudden – bam- that locomotive gets derailed into a sideline that then will take off for countries not known. I am typically left with a bemused look on my face – collecting back what odds and ends of my thought process have been left dangling on the side rails.
Nearly all of it is nonetheless really functional, simply needs an edge or two straightened out and possibly a little bit of of sleeve sprucing up to disguise the scratches it just accrued. I realise that if I add a few new stray thought to the classic ones, and probably adjust the basic color of one or two images, no one really knows the distinction or can tell where in my account that the whole thing out of the blue invented a life of its own and took off for parts not known.
Nevertheless, I have often thought about if it would be possible to just collect those lost children of the mind and bring them home. It may be a sort of homecoming for the orphans of my thought processes that would include all the wanderings for the preceding forty years and give them a purpose.
Although, I guess the whole reason they wandered off in the beginning was a need to discover a purpose that wasn’t of my picking. So they may not make an appearance, even if especially invited, to this type of special event. So I assume until I locate the key to that secretive door, I will only have to wave them merrily good-bye and return to the pages I have on my personal computer. If these people want to join me on just about any of my website blogs, they will surely have to find me at either my Hardwood Floors Installation site, or looking at Bandsaw Tools or perhaps come and check-out me at my real estate site about Florida. Ultimately then, they are by themselves!
